The Impact of ICD-10: Revenue Cycle Departments (Medi-Cal)

In this course, we will look at the departments that currently use or generate ICD-10 codes, and the changes in daily functions those departments should be implementing to meet needs.

  • Identify the four main functional areas of the revenue cycle that are impacted by ICD-10
  • Define how front-end staff are educated and processes in patient access have adapted to ICD-10
  • Name what constitutes compliant clinical documentation as well as the initiatives and technology that encourage coding accuracy under ICD-10
  • Identify efficient billing processes and how systems have adapted to ICD-10 standards to encourage accurate reimbursement
