The Federal government is the largest payer of health insurance through Medicare, Medi-Cal, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). This course describes the key parts of each program, what the different programs typically offer, and who is typically covered.

• List the key parts of the Medicare program and how Medicare services are reimbursed
• Describe what the Medi-Cal program is and who is typically covered by it
• Elaborate on what the Children’s Health Insurance Program is as well as why and how it functions
