Participants will learn how to explain insurance terms in patient-friendly language, navigate cost-related discussions, and use proven communication strategies to support informed financial decision-making. The course also covers the full revenue cycle, emphasizing the importance of financial transparency before services are rendered.

  • Develop strategies to improve conversations with patients and offer information to support their financial decisions
  • Describe in patient-friendly language how insurance works, e.g., copay, deductible, coinsurance, explanation of benefits, etc.
  • Identify tools to leverage during difficult financial conversations with patients that can increase engagement and improve outcomes
