Certified Application Counselor Overview (Medi-Cal)

Certified Application Counselors, or CACs, help to provide consumers with accurate and complete information to help connect individuals with health insurance coverage as part of the Affordable Care Act. This course reviews the role of a CAC, the training that an individual must complete to become a CAC, and the process CACs use to assist individuals.

  • Describe the role of a Certified Application Counselor (CAC) 
  • Outline the application process and ways to assess client needs
  • Support clients through enrollment, appeals, and annual redetermination processes
